Moss Walls

Preserved moss and preserved plant walls offer the beauty of nature without the maintenance of living plants. Because they're crafted from real preserved moss and foliage, they require no watering, irrigation, or ongoing plant care while maintaining their natural beauty for years.

Every installation is custom designed to compliment your space, making preserved walls an excellent choice for unique architectural features, statement walls, and areas where a maintenance-free solution is preferred. With endless design possibilities, they create lasting works of art that bring warmth, texture, and nature indoors.

Moss Walls

100% Maintenance-Free
No watering, no trimming, and no misting required. The moss is naturally preserved to maintain its soft texture and brilliant color completely on its own.

Sustainable & Eco-Friendly
Harvested responsibly and treated with non-toxic, natural ingredients, making it entirely safe for your family, pets, and the environment.

Zero Lighting Required
Unlike living plants, preserved moss thrives perfectly in low-light conditions, windowless rooms, or spaces with entirely artificial lighting.

Lightweight Structure
Built onto an engineered backing system, these panels are lightweight and can be securely mounted to almost any existing wall without structural reinforcement.

Textural Diversity
We combine different species like sheet moss, mood moss, plush reindeer moss, and preserved plants to create a captivating, multi-dimensional 3D landscape.

Acoustic Benefits

The natural density of preserved moss works beautifully to absorb sound waves, reducing echo and softening ambient noise for a calmer, quieter environment.

Endless Design Possibilities

Moss walls and preserved plant walls are highly flexible, meaning we can easily contour them to your space or wrap them right around tricky walls.

We can create everything from geometric patterns and framed art to full-coverage walls using a mix of moss and other preserved greenery.

Airport Gardens

When Airport Gardens reached out in 2024, the atrium had incredible potential but years of neglect. The three-story complex's open atrium, with planters wrapping around koi ponds, was suffering from a past whitefly infestation: bare soil on the first floor, overgrown dracaenas, and upper floors needing attention.

We removed most of the existing plants, amended the soil, and brought in over 200 new plants, layering large statement pieces, mid-size fillers, and ground cover for a lush, dimensional look. Grow lights filled in where natural light fell short. Maintaining the space required a tailored approach. Since the koi ponds rule out traditional pest control, we release beneficial insects like ladybugs and lacewings monthly to keep pests in check naturally.

More than two years later, Airport Gardens keeps evolving. Ongoing care has taught us which plants thrive where, and after the owner admired the Gaylord's full, uniform planting style, we redesigned two atrium planters to match. Today the space feels fuller and healthier, full of life for the tenants who walk through and look down on it daily, and Tropical House continues to grow right alongside it.

Reno Computer Repair-The Computer Guy

This project will always be special to us because it was Tropical House's very first commercial account—and a great example of how almost any workplace can benefit from plants. We designed greenery throughout this computer repair company's offices and lobby, using a mix of tall floor plants, trailing plants in wall-mounted planters, and shelving that allowed us to bring greenery up and into the workspace without taking away valuable floor space.

Over time, the design has continued to grow with the client. Most recently, we added a custom mobile living wall that can be moved throughout the lobby as needed, with a chalkboard built into the back for brainstorming and collaboration. It's a fun, functional addition to the space and a reminder that bringing nature into the workplace doesn't have to be complicated—it just needs to be intentional.

Plant Design & Maintenance

When we were brought into the newer buildings of this large industrial campus, we wanted the plant design to feel consistent with what the company already had throughout its other spaces—but elevated. We kept the long, white planters that were part of their existing design and reimagined the plantings inside them, creating fuller, more intentional arrangements with better long-term care in mind. We also incorporated a rotation of red bromeliads, using the company's signature color to bring a subtle piece of their branding into the living design.

One of our favorite parts of this project was actually the employees' reaction. In an industrial environment where you might not expect to see much greenery, people genuinely lit up as the plants came into their workspace. With consistent ongoing maintenance and replacements when needed, the plants have continued to do beautifully. It's been a simple but powerful example of what we believe: green spaces make people feel better—even in the most unexpected places.

Sparks Living Wall

When we began working on this 20-foot-tall living wall in Sparks, it needed far more than routine maintenance. Large sections were bare, while overgrown plants competed for light. Standing water filled the troughs, and the irrigation system was malfunctioning. Living walls require specialized care: fast-growing species can quickly shade out weaker plants if not pruned proactively, and irrigation must be carefully balanced to prevent root damage. We reset the system by removing the existing plants, cleaning and disinfecting the troughs, fixing mechanical issues, and clearing the lines. We then replanted the 9-by-20-foot wall with a new design focused on balance, texture, and coverage, repurposing healthy original plants throughout the building.

After replanting, we adjusted the watering schedule and established routine pruning to manage growth. As deeper, hidden irrigation issues emerged, we adapted our ongoing care—monitoring plant health and making adjustments as mechanical repairs progress. Today, the wall is full, balanced, and healthy. A living wall is an evolving system, and success relies on continuous, hands-on care.

Airport Gardens | Seasonal Installations

Following our initial transformation at Airport Gardens, the owner asked us to bring the changing seasons into the atrium year-round. For our first fall installation, we wanted something that fit the space naturally rather than adding traditional decor. We transformed the existing zen garden into a harvest display centered around an oversized cornucopia, using a custom metal frame hand-woven with brown paper rope. Pumpkins, mums, and seasonal elements spilled out into the garden and across the first-floor planters, entrances, and elevator areas.

At Christmas, the space features a 12-foot tree alongside poinsettias and coordinated entrance planters. Seeing how much tenants enjoyed these changes, Airport Gardens expanded the program to include spring flowers, orchids, and bromeliads, followed by summer blooms featuring hot air balloons suspended among the trees to celebrate Reno's annual races. Bringing these seasonal transitions indoors connects tenants working inside to the outdoors, giving them something fresh to experience year-round. Biophilic design isn't just about bringing nature inside—it's about letting the space change with it.

Reno Medical Spa & Plastic Surgery Center

This Reno medical spa and plastic surgery center was already a beautifully designed space, with a clean, upscale aesthetic and thoughtful details throughout—but it was missing a little life. We brought in plants to soften the bright, mostly white interior, starting at the entrance and continuing into each of the patient waiting areas.

Plant selections and placement were intentional, adding warmth and greenery without competing with the existing design. The finished result feels more welcoming and calming for patients as they wait for appointments and procedures, while adding another layer to the polished, elevated experience the practice had already created.
