While Tropical House mainly focuses on indoor biophilic design, we also offer custom seasonal outdoor planted containers. Whether it’s a balcony of a mountain retreat in Lake Tahoe, a modern patio in Reno, or an inviting storefront, we design seasonal and year-round container gardens that thrive in the region’s unique high-desert climate.

Professional Installation
Once your design is approved, our horticultural experts handle every step of the installation. We source healthy, high-quality plants and arrange them for lasting impact. Each container is installed with proper drainage, soil composition, and plant spacing to ensure strong growth and easy maintenance.
Ongoing Maintenance
Your outdoor containers should look their best year-round — without the stress of upkeep. Tropical House offers customized maintenance programs designed for Reno–Tahoe’s unique seasons. We handle pruning, fertilizing, pest control, and seasonal updates so your containers always look fresh and full of life.
For watering, we only maintain planters with drip systems. If there isn't an existing drip system to the planter, either your gardener or one of our subcontractors can install new drip lines or a whole new drip system.
We offer seasonal refreshes as well, where we will swap some plants out for seasonal plants for spring, summer, and fall. We will clean up the planters for the winter and take out any annuals so the perennials can overwinter properly.
